  • These are services targeted at helping individuals and groups increase awareness and/or skills related to factors that influence psychological functioning and mental health.

Some of my recent workshops have focused on addressing mental health attitudes and help-seeking behaviors, mental health needs of African immigrants, Muslim mental health, addressing immigration issues in therapy, and developing healthy coping strategies for adolescents.

  • These services involve the application of psychology and therapeutic principles to an organizational setting.

Recent consultations have included supporting physicians in a hospital system with managing pandemic work-related stress, navigating racial trauma when working with patients in a hospital system, and addressing mental health related concerns in an immigrant, Muslim community.

  • As an assistant professor of counseling psychology, I conduct research on the psychological functioning of Black immigrants, racial/ethnic socialization, and mental health attitudes and help-seeking behaviors.

I welcome collaborations for research that aims to expand and compliment my work. I am also currently interested in opportunities for community-based participatory research with racial/ethnic minorities and immigrant communities.
