These are services targeted at helping individuals and groups increase awareness and/or skills related to factors that influence psychological functioning and mental health.
Some of my recent workshops have focused on addressing mental health attitudes and help-seeking behaviors, mental health needs of African immigrants, Muslim mental health, addressing immigration issues in therapy, and developing healthy coping strategies for adolescents.

These services involve the application of psychology and therapeutic principles to an organizational setting.
Recent consultations have included supporting physicians in a hospital system with managing pandemic work-related stress, navigating racial trauma when working with patients in a hospital system, and addressing mental health related concerns in an immigrant, Muslim community.

As an assistant professor of counseling psychology, I conduct research on the psychological functioning of Black immigrants, racial/ethnic socialization, and mental health attitudes and help-seeking behaviors.
I welcome collaborations for research that aims to expand and compliment my work. I am also currently interested in opportunities for community-based participatory research with racial/ethnic minorities and immigrant communities.
