Education & Work Experience

I am a clinical mental health professional, substance abuse counselor, trainer and speaker. Initially, I started out working in a residential home for at-risk adolescents and teaching in an alternative school with at-risk youth. It was then that I developed a passion for working with at-risk youth and young adults.

In 2018, I graduated from Concordia University with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and went on to work at Warrenville Juvenile prison as a Substance Abuse Counselor.

I specialize in working with at-risk youth and adults struggling with substance use, life transitions, family/couples relational issues, stress and anger management, anxiety, grief and loss. I also provide social-emotional and life skills training for organizations designed to help eradicate the barriers, build life skills and work skills for teens and young adults in the work field.

Therapy Style

I believe change occurs with acceptance and awareness, then we make a conscious decision to change in order to bring about desirable results conducive to the lifestyle we want to live. My approach to therapy utilizes CBT, Psychodynamic and integrative therapy, in which I incorporate mindfulness and motivational interviewing.

Fun Facts

My favorite movies are Love Jones and The Notebook--what can I say? I'm a hopeless romantic. I often contribute my desire to strengthen the building blocks of families to my desire to see healthy relationships similar to those of the many Hollywood love stories, such as those displayed in my favorite movies.
